FORT WORTH, Texas - Texas Wesleyan exploded for seven runs in the fourth inning and had two other big innings on their way to handing the Austin College baseball team a 15-1 loss on Tuesday afternoon. The 'Roos are now 4-12 overall with the defeat.
Austin College got on the board first when Brett Taff singled home Austin Dudley in the top of the first, but in the bottom of the inning the Rams answered back with four runs, including a three run homer. Texas Wesleyan added three more runs in the third to make it 7-1, and then put seven across in the fourth to make it a 14-1 game. One more run would come home for the Rams in the sixth to make it a 15-1.
Oscar Gonzalez took the loss on the mound, surrendering seven runs on eight hits in 3.0 innings of work. Gonzalez also paced the 'Roos at the plate, going 2-for-3, and Derek Hester went 1-for-2 with a triple.
