'Roo Football Sweeps SCAC Weekly Honors Again
Noah Jesko, Brett Vaughn and Andrew Klink have been named the SCAC Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively, the league office has announced.
Three members of the Austin College football team were honored by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference for their performances over the weekend by being named the SCAC Players of the Week, the league office has announced.
Noah Jesko, a sophomore quarterback from Dalhart, was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week after completing 13-of-24 passes for 129 yards and a touchdown against Rhodes on Saturday. Jesko's 17-yard touchdown pass to Quentin Casner tied the game at 13-13 midway through the third quarter.
Brett Vaughn, a sophomore defensive lineman from Hurst, was named the SCAC Defensive Player of the Week as well for his performance against Rhodes, in which he tallied eight tackles including three solo stops and two tackles for loss. Vaughn also recovered a fumble in the game.
Andrew Klink, a junior kicker from Cypress, was selected as the conference's Special Teams Player of the Week, the second time he's earned that distinction this season. Klink connected on a pair of 21-yard field goal attempts and converted his lone point after attempt to finish with seven points on the day against Rhodes.
Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
