Four from 'Roo Men's Soccer Named All-SCAC
Austin College men's soccer players Memo Allande, James Saulnier, Caleb Sherer, and Mason Waddell have been named All-SCAC players.
Four members of the Austin College men's soccer team have earned All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference accolades, the league office has announced. James Saulnier, Mason Waddell, Caleb Sherer and Guillermo Allande each earned 2nd Team All-SCAC honors.
Saulnier, a sophomore from Plano, started 18 games this season as one of the team's top defenders and had two goals and three assists for seven total points. Saulnier had one game winner and attempted 12 shots, including five on goal.
Waddell, a senior from Austin, was consistently one of the top defenders in the conference throughout the year and started all 20 games with a goal in the SCAC Tournament. Waddell attempted nine shots for the year.
Sherer, a sophomore from Garland, was one of the top point scorers in the conference after tallying seven goals and seven assists for a total of 21 points, leading the team in all three categories. Sherer had three game winners and attempted 51 shots, including 23 on goal.
Allande, a senior midfielder from El Paso, finished second on the team with six goals scored and added an assist for 13 total points and had one game winner. Allande attempted 50 shots this season, including 18 on goal.
Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
