Softball Gives Back to the Community over Holidays

Members of the Austin College softball team gave back to the community over the Holidays, as the team volunteered at the Preston Retirement Home in Sherman in December.

'Roo softball coach Andrea Vangoss and players Mikayla Clark, Samantha Matulis, Amber Pemberton, Briana and Sophia Hernandez, Rachel Ramos, Mary Whitworth, Jenny Dowsey, and Heather Farquhar visited the Preston Retirement Home in order to spread holiday cheer, as well as making ornaments, playing Bingo, and visiting with the residents throughout the course of the day.

Various members of the 'Roo softball team have been active members in the Sherman and Austin College communities over the years, with both Matulis and Farquhar having been named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Character and Community recipients.
