SHERMAN, Texas - The NCAA regional rankings committees have released the first set of regional rankings for the 2017-2018 season, and the Austin College women's basketball team comes in ranked No. 7 in the South Region this week.
The 'Roos are one of two Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference teams ranked in the region, with Trinity coming in at No. 8. This is the third year in a row that the 'Roos have found themselves regionally ranked, and overall three of the team's opponents this season are also ranked in the South Region, with Texas-Dallas ranked No. 1 and East Texas Baptist ranked No. 9, in addition to Trinity. Washington University, who Austin College defeated in December, is also ranked No. 5 in the Central Region.
