Five from 'Roo Women's Soccer Earn All-SCAC
Austin College women's soccer players Kelsey D'Amore, Ariel Marder, Sydney Redding, Abby Saizow, and Lauren Scott have each been named All-SCAC performers.
Five members of the Austin College women's soccer team have earned All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference accolades, the league office has announced. Ariel Marder earned 1st Team honors, while Lauren Scott, Kelsey D'Amore, Abby Saizow, and Sydney Redding were each 2nd Team honorees.
Marder, a senior midfielder from Plano, scored two goals including one game winner and led the 'Roos with eight assists and 12 points for the year. Marder also topped the team with 46 shots, including 20 on goal.
Scott, a junior defender from Coppell, scored twice and had two assists for a total of six points this year. Both of Scott's goals were game winners, while she attempted 44 shots including a team-high 24 shots on goal.
D'Amore, a senior defender from Plano, tallied two goals and added three assists and finished third on the team with seven points. D'Amore attempted 23 shots, including 13 on goal, and anchored the defense as the team's sweeper.
Saizow, a junior forward from Tulsa, led the team with four goals, including one game winner, and added an assist for nine points, good for second on the team. Saizow was the team's top goal scorer despite starting just five games this season.
Redding, a sophomore midfielder from Waco, scored once and added an assist for three total points this season. Redding had 24 shots on the year, including seven on goal, and her goal was a game winner.
Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
