The Austin College women's basketball snapped a four game skid behind 13 points from Jacqui Nickell in a 54-49 victory over Hendrix on Saturday. The 'Roos are now 4-6, and the four wins already equal last year's total.
The 'Roos led by nine points at half and held off a comeback bid by the Warriors thanks in large part to hitting 13-of-14 free throw attempts as a team in the game. Nickell hit all eight of her free throw attempts on her way to 13 points and added four boards and three assists, and Brittany Stepanksi and Erin Riley each scored 11 points. Brooke Melton added 11 rebounds to lead the Austin College effort on the glass.
The 'Roos are back in action today when they take on Rhodes College in Memphis.
