Hernandez Named SCAC Hitter of the Week

Austin College softball player Briana Hernandez has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Hitter of the Week, the league office has announced.
Hernandez, a freshman third baseman from Irving, led the 'Roos to a 4-2 record last week while batting .350 with three home runs and 12 runs batted in and helped Austin College sweep a four game series with SCAC foe the University of Dallas.
Hernandez boasted a .850 slugging percentage and a .435 on base percentage to tally 1.285 OPS, and also scored seven runs and added a double and a stolen base. Hernandez is the second 'Roo to be named the SCAC Hitter of the Week this year, as her twin sister Sophia was honored in March.
Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
