Alan Sullivan, Men's Basketball
Alan Sullivan became the first 'Roo to score 40 points in a game since 1998, in a win over Schreiner Friday.
Alan Sullivan put up huge numbers over the weekend as the 'Roos went 1-1, averaging 30.0 points and becoming the first 'Roo since Christian Morgia in 1998 to reach the 40 point mark in a single game. Sullivan poured in 40 points in a victory over Schreiner.
The 6-foot-7 junior forward from Dallas also averaged 8.0 rebounds per game for the week, shooting better than 52% from the field and 50% from three point range while hitting all 10 of his free throw attempts. Sullivan also added 1.5 blocks per game against the Mountaineers and Trinity.
Sullivan hit 8-of-11 three pointers in the 40 point outburst against Schreiner, which topped his previous career best of 36 points, set earlier this season. Sullivan followed up with a 20 point effort against the Tigers on Saturday.
Before Sullivan, the last two players to reach the 40 point mark were Morgia with 43 in 1998, and Mark Kellogg, who scored 41 points in 1997.
