Cooper Woodyard had a huge debut at quarterback, completing 15-of-30 passes for 311 yards and two touchdowns and rushing for 86 yards and two more scores. Woodyard, a converted wide receiver who hadn't played quarterback since high school, had one of the most prolific performances behind center in recent memory in his first game since making the position switch.
Woodyard helped the 'Roos put an incredible 42 first half points on the board on the way to a 55-41 victory over Hendrix College in the season opener, including scoring on a 45 yard run to close out the first half and send Austin College into the break with a seven point lead. Woodyard's 311 yards are the most for a 'Roo quarterback since Noah Jesko threw for 333 yards on September 14, 2013.
