SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo women's basketball player Ann Savage.
Savage, a graduate student from Tulsa, Oklahoma, has had a strong start to her final campaign in Sherman as the 'Roos have gotten off to a 7-0 start. That marks the best start for the program since the 1997-1998 season, and last weekend Savage helped the 'Roos stay unbeaten with 13 points, five assists, and three rebounds in a win over Ozarks. For her career, she's dished out more than 300 assists and last season led all of NCAA Division III in assist-to-turnover ratio along with being named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Elite 19 Award recipient for women's basketball, recognizing her academic as well as athletic success.
Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
