Holland Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's basketball player Michael Holland.
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's basketball player Michael Holland.
Holland, a junior forward from Waxahachie, had a huge weekend for Austin College on his way to being named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, in addition to being named to the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week, averaging 32.5 points and 12.0 rebounds-per-game. Holland also averaged 4.5 assists and 3.5 steals-per-game against Southwestern and Texas Lutheran, and followed up those performances with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in a road victory at the University of Dallas on Tuesday. For the year, Holland is averaging team-highs in points, rebounds, and assists, averaging 17.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists-per-game.
