McCoy, a sophomore from San Antonio, was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player after averaging 20.5 points in a pair of games to help the 'Roos capture the first SCAC tournament title in program history. McCoy poured in 25 points in a semifinal victory over Southwestern, and followed that up with a 16-point performance in the championship win over Trinity University to help propel the 'Roos to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1999. McCoy's scoring average increased each month this season on her way to being named honorable mention All-SCAC. She enters the NCAA Tournament third on the team with 10.4 points-per-game while shooting 46.7% from the field, 48.8% from three, and 82% from the free throw line.
