SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo baseball player Aneurin Minson.
Minson, a junior from Phoenix, Arizona, has been a leader both on the diamond and across the Austin College campus during his time in Sherman. Earlier this year, he was honored as a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Character and Community Award recipient for his service work, and he also serves as a member of Austin College's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. A right-handed pitcher, Minson has battled through injuries in his first three seasons with the 'Roos, but his contributions to the program and the College as a whole have been extensive. This year he served as the co-chair of the Service Station, and oversees the Austin College Tutoring Program that helps kids throughout Sherman ISD. Minson has provided more than 75 hours of community service per semester since coming to Austin College, including his work with Great Day of Service, 'RooBound, First We Serve, and more.
Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
