Denbo Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo baseball player Nick Denbo.
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo baseball player Nick Denbo.
Denbo, a sophomore pitcher from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., was named this week's male winner of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference's Character & Community Award, in recognition to his service to the United States after spending four years in the US Army. After enlisting in 2017, Denbo ultimately earned the rank of sergeant as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division during a pair of deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, including participating in the American evacuation of Afghanistan in 2021.
