Smith, a sophomore from Grand Prairie, earned his first ever Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week recognition after an outstanding performance in the pool in a home meet against the University of the Ozarks. He improved his 1000 freestyle time by nine seconds with a 11:31.41 finish and swam a 2:28.02 in the 200 backstroke. Additionally, he had the comeback swim of the meet in the 400 individual medley, placing second with a time of 3:51.60 to help the 'Roos to the victory over the Eagles.
Modern Woodmen of America is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
