Lai Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's swimmer Alex Lai.

Lai, a junior from Grand Prairie, had a strong performance in Austin College's final regular season meet of the season at Centenary College. Lai helped the 'Roos to a win over Centenary, with three first place finishes as well as a second place swim. Lai was part of the 200 medley relay team that took first place with a time of 1:47.34, and added an individual victory in the 200 IM, coming in with a time of 2:09.82. He was also part of Austin College's 200 freestyle relay team that took first place with a time of 1:35.84, and he added a second place finish in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:10.44.
