Broquard Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo women's soccer player Jetta Broquard.

Broquard, a freshman forward from Siloam Springs, Ark., continued her oustanding rookie campaign last weekend, scoring a goal in the team's victory over Schreiner and adding an assist in a narrow loss to conference-leading Trinity. For the year, Broquard leads the 'Roos in both goals and total points, having found the back of the net five times while adding four assists, good for second on the team, to give her a total of 14 points. She ranks among the top 10 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in all three of those statistical categories, and has been a huge part of the program's strongest season in a decade, with the 'Roos guaranteed to finish better than .500, and already having nearly doubled last season's wins total.
