Wear Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's soccer player Pierce Wear.

Wear, a junior midfielder from North Richland Hills, had a huge performance in Austin College's 5-3 road victory at McMurry on Sunday, scoring two goals and adding an assist for a total of five points. His second goal proved to be the game-winner, his second of the season. For the year, Wear is tied for fifth in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with nine goals, and he's also tied for 10th with four assists. His 22 total points this season rank him fourth in the conference. Wear heads into his final two games of the regular season, against No. 5-ranked Colorado College and St. Thomas, with 17 career goals and nine career assists.
