Lane Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo women's soccer player Kenedie Lane.
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo women's soccer player Kenedie Lane.
Lane, a senior goalkeeper from Frisco, wrapped up a stellar career as a four-year starter for the 'Roos over the weekend, helping the team to its best record in the last decade at 9-5-4. Lane was a standout in goal all season, ranking among the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference leaders in goals allowed, goals-against-average, save percentage, and shutouts. Lane, who is also an All-SCAC performer, an Academic All-Region honoree, and a member of the SCAC Academic Honor Roll, had a career-best eight shutouts this season, bringing her career total to 12 solo clean sheets and one shared. She wrapped up her four seasons with 299 saves in 49 career appearances in goal, including 45 starts, and a career save percentage of .802 in more than 3,700 minutes played.
