Fiala Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's water polo player Preston Fiala.

Fiala, a freshman attacker from Deer Park, had an outstanding weekend as Austin College hosted a 10 game tournament in Hannah Natatorium, with the 'Roos going 3-1 during the event and solidified the No. 2-seed in the MPSF East Division as they look toward the MPSF Championships later this month. Fiala scored five goals over the course of the weekend, including one tally in a win over Penn State Behrend and a pair of goals in a dominant performance against Wheaton. He finished up the weekend with two more goals against top-seeded Augustana.
