Hudson Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo football player Barrett Hudson.

Hudson, a running back from Katy, capped off a stellar freshman campaign with 159 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Austin College's 31-21 win over Lyon on Homecoming Weekend. That solidified Hudson's place as the leading rusher in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference for the 2024 season, finishing with 959 yards and six touchdowns. It was also his second big performance against Lyon this season, having previously amassed 240 yards on just 11 carries with three scores in a road win over the Scots earlier this year. He closed the season with an average of 5.8 yards-per-carry. He was named both the SCAC Offensive Player of the Week and a member of the D3Football.com Team of the Week after that 240 yard performance, which came up just 16 yards shy of matching Hall of Honor member Aaron Kernek's program record for most yards in a game.
