Easley Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo women's water polo player Ashley Easley.

Easley, a sophomore from San Antonio, was outstanding in a pair of games from her position as the team's starting goalie en route to being named the CWPA Division III Defensive Player of the Week. Easley helped the 'Roos to a 1-1 record against top 10 opponents Occidental and Whittier, making 19 blocks with five steals as the 'Roos had a narrow defeat against Occidental before rebounding with a comeback victory over Whittier. In the victory over Whittier, Easley came up huge with 11 blocks in the team's 12-11 last-second victory.
