Austin College Athletics Welcomes New Staff Members
SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College athletics department will be welcoming six new staff members as the 'Roos head into the 2025-26 academic year in the areas of coaching, athletics communications, and athletic training.
SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College athletics department will be welcoming six new staff members as the 'Roos head into the 2025-26 academic year in the areas of coaching, athletics communications, and athletic training.
Among these new hires is Jonothan Stillwell, who joins the Austin College community as its new assistant women's basketball coach, and he will also be overseeing recreational sports and intramurals. Stillwell joins head coach Olivia Hunt's staff after serving as an assistant coach at the University of Texas-Dallas, in addition to working as the head coach of the Under Armour - Pro Skills Basketball 16U team. Stillwell is a 2023 graduate of the University of North Texas, and earned his master's degree from East Texas A&M University in 2024.
Also joining the athletics department this year is Baylor Borden, who comes to Austin College as its newest assistant football coach. Borden previously played for head coach Tony Joe White at Birmingham-Southern, and graduated from Illinois College earlier this year. Borden will serve as the team's wide receivers coach for the upcoming season, and earned his degree in sports management.
Drew Lancaster returns to Austin College as its new assistant baseball coach, having previously served in an assistant role for head coach Shawn Counts in 2022-23. Lancaster, who also worked as the program's recruiting coordinator, is a 2005 graduate of Western Carolina University and earned his master's from Grand Canyon University in 2010, and most recently worked as a teacher and coach for the Community Independent School District in Nevada, Texas.
Gracie Ore joins the 'Roo athletics department on a full-time basis as both an assistant softball coach and assistant athletics communications director after working as a stipend assistant for both during the 2024-25 academic year, and is a 2023 graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She also earned her master's in sports administration from Southeastern in 2024. Ore was a standout player at Southeastern, earning All-Conference honors, as well as serving as the president of the University's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Prior to coming to Austin College, she worked as a marketing and event coordinator for the city of Durant, Oklahoma.
Another new hire for the 'Roo athletics department is Josue Bravo, a 2025 graduate of Austin College who will work as an assistant for both athletics communications and men's soccer. Bravo was a standout player for Austin College men's soccer, starting as a defender after transferring to the College from Murray State in Oklahoma, and earned a dual-degree in kinesiology and Spanish. Bravo started all 34 games in which he appeared during his career with the men's soccer team under head coach Taylor Goyen.
Savannah Blue rounds out the new hires for Austin College athletics, coming to the 'Roos as the newest member of its athletic training staff. Blue is a 2023 graduate of Grand Canyon University, where she earned her degree in athletic training and worked with various sports both at the University and in the surrounding area. She most recently worked as an athletic trainer within the Whitewright Independent School District, and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, the Texas State Athletic Trainers Association, and the Southwest Athletic Trainers Association.
