Garza-Rios Named Modern Woodmen Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's soccer player Luis Garza-Rios.

Garza-Rios, a sophomore from The Woodlands, has had a stellar start to his second collegiate season, having a hand in all four goals scored by the 'Roos so far this year. Garza-Rios got his sophomore campaign off to an outstanding start by scoring a brace against Howard Payne in a 2-0 victory to open the year, and against Dallas Christian College, he added a goal and an assist in a 2-2 draw with the Crusaders. He currently ranks second in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with three goals and second in total points with seven.
