Perez Named Modern Woodmen Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo women's soccer player Sarae Perez.

Perez, a sophomore from Azle, has gotten her second collegiate campaign off to an outstanding start with a goal and two assists in four games played so far this year. The second-year midfielder has started three of those four matches, as Austin College has gotten off to a 2-1-1 start in 2025. Perez had a hand in the game-winning goals in each of Austin College's first two victories this year, assisting on the game-winner in a 3-0 home victory against Lyon College, and scoring the game-winner herself in a 4-1 road win against Texas College. Perez is currently tied for the team lead with four total points, and is tied for second in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with her two assists.
