Fiala Named Modern Woodmen Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's water polo player Preston Fiala.

Fiala, a sophomore attacker from Deer Park, got his second collegiate campaign off to a strong start as he helped Austin College go 2-2 at the Austin College Invite, with wins over Ottawa (Ariz.) and Caltech. Fiala scored six goals in the four games in the team's first action of the season, while adding four steals and a block. Fiala's biggest game of the weekend came in the team's 10-9 win over Ottawa, in which he scored four goals in six shot attempts while adding a pair of steals.
