Stewart Named Modern Woodmen Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo football player Zyan Stewart.

Stewart, a sophomore running back from Lancaster, had a huge game for Austin College as the 'Roos stormed past Centenary College by a final score of 41-15 this past Saturday at Apple Stadium. Stewart had three total touchdowns in the game, including a 30 yard touchdown run to ice the game in the fourth quarter. Stewart finished with 96 rushing yards on 22 carries and caught two passes for six yards. Both of those catches went for touchdowns, including a spectacular diving, one-handed grab. Stewart has totaled 140 yards on the ground this season with an average of 4.4 yards per rush.
