McFarland Named Modern Woodmen Athlete of the Week
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo women's soccer player Kieran McFarland.
SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo women's soccer player Kieran McFarland.
McFarland, a first-year goalkeeper from Bedford, was stellar this past weekend as the 'Roos went 1-0-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play, giving up just one goal in 180 minutes of action while making a combined seven saves. McFarland stopped all four shots she faced in a road win at Centenary, earning a clean sheet in the 1-0 decision. In six appearances this year, including four starts, McFarland has surrendered a conference-low three goals, and boasts a SCAC-leading 0.58 goals-against-average while ranking second with a .850 save percentage.
