Wear Named Modern Woodmen Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's soccer player Pierce Wear.

Wear, a senior midfielder from North Richland Hills, helped the 'Roos to a 1-0-1 record last weekend with a 1-1 draw against Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference-leading Colorado College on Friday night as the team celebrated the 50th anniversary of the program, as well as a 2-0 victory over the University of Dallas for the team's fourth conference win of the year. Wear scored in both games, tallying the lone goal against the Tigers and getting what would prove to be the game-winner in Austin College's shutout victory over the Crusaders. Wear now has three goals on the year, and his tally against Dallas was the 20th goal of his Austin College career.
