Villalobos Named Modern Woodmen Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo baseball player Jorge Villalobos.

Villalobos, a sophomore infielder from Midland, had a big week at the plate and especially on the basepaths as the 'Roos earned a series win against Ozarks, taking two of three games. Villalobos batted .500 with a .692 on-base percentage, scoring five runs with three RBI and stealing seven bases in seven attempts. Villalobos had at least two stolen bases, a hit, and a run scored in each game. For the weekend, he safely reached base in nine of his 13 plate appearances.
