It's a big week for Austin College athletics as 'RooNation celebrates NCAA Division III week while the cheer and women's water polo teams open up their postseason competition. The Austin College cheer team gets things started in Daytona Beach on Thursday, as they open up their participation in NCA Nationals at 12:47 p.m. EST. The event continues through the remainder of the week, with each performance being livestreamed via varsity.tv. Those streams are accessible for anyone with a FloSports membership.
On Friday, the 'Roo women's water polo team opens up CWPA postseason play in Norton, Massachusetts, on the campus of Wheaton College. The 'Roos begin tournament play on Friday afternoon, where they'll take on Carthage College at 2:30 p.m. EST, with the tournament continuing through the weekend.
The men's and women's tennis teams will be home on Friday to host the University of the Ozarks, with those SCAC matches set to begin at 5:30 p.m., and the 'Roos will also be home on Saturday morning when they square off against Hendrix College at 10:00 p.m. for another conference match.
The Austin College baseball team is headed to Kerrville this weekend, starting with a 2:00 p.m. game at Schreiner on Friday to open up their three-game SCAC set, and the series continues on Saturday with a doubleheader scheduled to begin at noon.
The 'Roo softball team will also be facing Schreiner this weekend, but at the friendly confines of Sherman High School. Austin College hosts the Mountaineers for a doubleheader on Saturday starting at noon, and wraps up the series on Sunday with a single game that also has a first pitch scheduled for noon.
