Lexi Beeson, Women's Basketball
Lexi Beeson is the Austin College female winter winner of the SCAC Character & Community Award.
Lexi Beeson has been selected as Austin College's female winter sports winner of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Character and Community Award, the league has announced.
Beeson, a junior guard and two year starter for the
Kangaroo women’s basketball team from Kenai, Alaska, has been
an extremely active member of the Austin College community during
her three years in Sherman.
In addition to being a member of the basketball team, she is
a Dean’s List student and member of the SCAC Academic Honor
Roll, and is a member of the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity. As
a member of APO, Beeson has served on the
committee for ‘Roo Boo, an annual community event at
Halloween, and helps maintain the organization’s adopted
stretch of highway with regular trash pick ups.
Beeson also serves as the Vice President for Marketing
for the Campus Activities Board, and serves as the president of the
Student Athlete Advisory Council. While working with the SAAC, she
helped to plan and organize an event in which Austin College
student-athletes volunteered with the Special Olympics Regional
Track Meet, and will be involved in the same event this spring. She
also serves as the historian for Alpha Phi Omega, and is a junior
class representative for the Student Assembly.
Beeson has also volunteered as part of the Austin
College Great Day of Service at the Sherman Women’s Crisis
Center and is the athletic department’s Tim Calvert Intern
for Sports Information.
