This summer, Austin College men's basketball players Cody Meyers, Jeremy Swisher, and Josh Dickerman developed The Extra Step Foundation, a charity aimed at providing relief for the families of children facing substantial medical bills.
The three sophomores came up with the idea during a team trip to Costa Rica, when they worked with underpriveleged children. Since returning Stateside and creating The Extra Step Foundation, the trio have partnered with Children's Health Children's Medical Center with the function of providing funding for both medical and personal expenses to families facing difficult times financially derived from hospital bills.
To date, The Extra Step Foundation has already raised a significant amount of money in its few short months of existence and Meyers, Swisher, and Dickerman have been working with a number of families to give them peace of mind during their most trying times. The three founding members are currently working on a team trip to Children's Health, CMC.
More information about The Extra Step Foundation can be found on the charity's official website.
