Seven From 'Roo Baseball Earn All-SCAC
ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced its All-Conference awards, and seven members of the Austin College baseball team have been recognized for their outstanding play during the 2025 season.
ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced its All-Conference awards, and seven members of the Austin College baseball team have been recognized for their outstanding play during the 2025 season. Isaac Villa was named second team All-SCAC, while Jayden Ayala-Hinojosa, Desmond Squalls, RayShawn Riley, Jack Wilhelm, Ashton Cason, and Trystan Mallory have been named honorable mention All-Conference performers.
Villa, a freshman shortstop from Wichita Falls, earned his second team status following a season in which he batted .320 and led the SCAC with 25 stolen bases. Villa had 10 doubles, three triples, a home run, and drove in 14 runs while scoring 45 in his first collegiate campaign.
Ayala-Hinojosa, a freshman first baseman and designated hitter from Fort Worth, batted .366 during the 2025 campaign on his way to earning his honorable mention All-SCAC status. Ayala-Hinojosa, who alwo finished as the runner-up for the SCAC Freshman of the Year Award, had 11 doubles, two home runs, and drove in 31 runs while scoring 20.
Squalls, a sophomore outfielder from McKinney, was also named honorable mention All-SCAC after batting .313 with a team-best four home runs, adding seven doubles and three triples. Squalls was twice named the SCAC Hitter of the Week this season, and scored 26 runs on the year.
Riley, a sophomore first baseman and outfielder, earned honorable mention All-Conference recognition following a season in which he batted .275 with two home runs, eight doubles, and two triples, adding 29 runs batted in and 20 runs scored.
Wilhelm, a sophomore third baseman from Katy, was named honorable mention All-SCAC after hitting .359 with a .500 on-base percentage, driving in 14 runs with one double this year while also scoring 16 runs. Wilhelm also went 2-0 with a 1.42 earned-run-average in 12.2 innings pitched.
Cason, a senior outfielder from Plano, earned his All-SCAC honorable mention status after finishing the year with a .330 batting average with a double and a triple, driving in 16 runs and scoring 18 while adding six stolen bases.
Mallory, a senior pitcher from Bonham, rounds out the All-Conference recipients, earning honorable mention recognition upon earning a pair of victories in 60.0 innings pitched this year, posting a 4.95 earned-run-average and leading Austin College with 47 strikeouts against just 19 walks.
