The 'Roos are now 12-14 overall and 10-11 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.
The 'Roos took control early in the opener, plating 11 runs across the first three innings. Keaton Bradshaw led the relentless offensive attack, going 4-for-5 with a double, two runs scored, and two runs batted in. Desmond Squalls, Jayden Ayala-Hinojosa, and Carlos Michinaux each contributed heavily to the middle of the lineup. Squalls finished 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI, Ayala-Hinojosa added three hits and a pair of RBI, and Michinaux went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI.
Centenary attempted to mount a comeback in the fourth inning, powered by a solo home run from Ethan Hopkins and an RBI triple from Turner Mclelland. The Gents pushed across five runs in the frame to cut into the deficit. However, Austin College reliever Colten Millsap silenced the Gents' lineup for the remainder of the contest. Millsap earned the win after tossing five scoreless innings out of the bullpen, allowing just two hits and striking out three to secure the 14-7 victory.
In game two, the Gents flipped the script, utilizing a potent offense and strong starting pitching to defeat the 'Roos in seven innings. Centenary starting pitcher Jacob Broussard threw a complete game, limiting Austin College to just three hits and two earned runs while striking out six.
The 'Roos manufactured a run in the first inning when Michinaux lifted a sacrifice fly to left field to score Jorge Villalobos. Michinaux struck again in the sixth with an RBI single that brought home Squalls, accounting for all of Austin College's run production in the game.
Centenary's bats proved too much to overcome in game two. Hopkins anchored the Gents, driving in five runs on two hits, including a two-run double in the sixth inning. Mclelland continued his strong day with a two-run home run in the second inning, and Noah Paulson finished a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with four runs scored and two RBIs. Gavin Brady took the loss on the mound for the 'Roos.
