Seven Baseball 'Roos Earn All-SCAC
CLEBURNE, Texas - Seven members of the Austin College baseball team earned All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference recognition, highlighted by Carlos Michinaux and Desmond Squalls being named second team, after their outstanding performances during the 2026 season, the league office has announced.

Along with Michinaux and Squalls, Jonas CeBallos, Caleb Staggs, Kaden Stegent, Jayden Ayala-Hinojosa, and Blake Skipworth were named honorable mention All-SCAC.
Michinaux, a junior outfielder from Richmond, finished the season eighth in the conference with a .368 batting average in his first year with the program on his way to his second team recognition. Michinaux had three home runs and 10 doubles, and drove in 36 runs and scored 20 more. He also had three stolen bases and had a .464 on-base percentage and a .530 slugging percentage.
Squalls, a junior outfielder from McKinney, was a second team selection following a year in which he batted .347 with three homers and seven doubles, while adding 34 runs batted in and 37 runs scored. He also ended the year tied for fourth in the conference with 20 stolen bases and boasted a .415 on-base percentage and a .458 slugging percentage.
CeBallos, a senior pitcher from McKinney, was an honorable mention All-SCAC pick after posting a career-best record of 4-3 in nine appearances, logging 47.1 innings on the hill while striking out 24 batters. He had a 6.65 earned run average and a 1.88 WHIP on the year.
Staggs, a first-year shortstop from Red Oak, was also an honorable mention pick following a season in which he played 35 games and batted .254 with a .366 on-base percentage, adding 11 stolen bases and driving in 16 runs. He also scored 35 runs and had a pair of doubles.
Stegent, a junior catcher from Cypress, was another honorable mention selection after batting .337 with a .496 on-base percentage and a .461 slugging percentage in 28 games. He had a pair of home runs and five doubles, finishing the season with 22 RBI and 29 runs scored.
Ayala-Hinojosa, a sophomore first baseman and designated hitter from Fort Worth, batted .358 with a .438 on-base percentage and a .488 slugging percentage en route to being named honorable mention All-SCAC. He drove in 29 runs and had two home runs, 10 doubles, and scored 25 times this season. He also made three appearances on the mound, going 2-1 with a 5.71 ERA in 17.1 innings of work.
Skipworth, a senior pitcher from Van Alstyne, rounds out this year's All-SCAC picks for the 'Roos, earning honorable mention accolades by going 4-3 with a 7.11 ERA and a 1.86 WHIP. He logged 50.2 innings and threw a pair of complete games, finishing the season with 37 strikeouts against 22 walks.
