'Roo Football Spreads Redshirt Pride to Sory Elementary

This past Friday, members of the Austin College football program made their annual trip to Henry Sory Elementary School to read to members of various classes. This tradition began several years ago and has continued under head coach Loren Dawson.

Members of the team making the trip included student-athletes from all four classes, meeting with and sharing their experiences with numerous young students from various grades at Sory, an elementary school in Sherman. Along with reading to each class, 'Roos including Colt Collins, Aaron Rideaux, Dain Hammit, Forrest Gardner, Darius Hypolite, Sharun Jones, and many more spoke with the students about what they've learned from being an Austin College student-athlete and how their time in Sherman is preparing them for the future.

The 'Roos helped to provide a positive message about work ethic and striving for success, while also making an effort to become well-rounded people and making the world a better place through kindness and spreading hope.
