The 'Roos are now 1-5 overall and 0-3 in conference play this season.
The Bulldogs got off to a quick start, driving 84 yards in just four plays culminating with a 60 yard touchdown strike from Reece Deitrick to Caleb Camarillo with 10:51 left in the opening quarter. The Bulldogs got another opening quarter score seven minutes later, as Tory Brooks plunged in from two yards out to make it a 14-0 game with 3:40 on the clock. The 'Roos got their biggest play of the game on the ensuing drive, as Jaylon Talton broke free for a 40 yard touchdown run to make it a 14-7 game after the first frame.
Texas Lutheran quickly got those points back a minute and a half into the second quarter, though, with Kibreante Williams scoring from a yard out, and Camarillo caught his second touchdown pass with 5:13 left in the period, this time a 14 yard scoring strike from Deitrick. Texas Lutheran got two more chances and cashed in twice, first with Williams scoring another one yard touchdown run with 1:57 left, and finally with Brooks finding paydirt from 13 yards out just before the end of the half, making it a 41-7 game at the break.
After a scoreless third period, the Bulldogs tacked on two more touchdowns in the fourth, as Reggie Hodge scampered in from 17 yards out with 12:17 left in the game, making it 48-7, and Elijah Favela added a 13 yard touchdown run with 7:25 left on the clock to make it a 55-7 final.
Talton rushed four times for 46 yards, while he and Leyton Riviere were each 1-of-7 passing with six and one yard, respectively, through the air. Pablo Cantu led Austin College defensively with 20 tackles, including 11 solo stops, and Eliel Sandoval had 10 stops, including 1.5 for loss. Deitrick was 11-of-14 for 221 yards and two scores and Brooks rushed 17 times for 127 yards, while Camarillo caught four passes for 93 yards.
Austin College returns home for the team's final game at Apple Stadium this season, hosting Lyon College at 1:00 p.m. with Senior Day recognition taking place prior to kickoff.
