Jamien June and Kidus Getenet each scored 15 points to lead Austin College offensively, with June also grabbing seven rebounds, handing out four assists, and coming away with three steals. Jordan Hudgins grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds, while Aiden Schnurr chipped in 10 points and Ethan Pearce added eight points and six rebounds. Austin College finished the game shooting 41.9% from the field and knocked down 6-of-21 threes, while Lyon made 45.6% from the floor and hit four threes, but the Scots outscored Austin College nine to four at the free throw line.
The 'Roos trailed 31-24 at halftime before rallying after the break, taking a 36-35 lead three and a half minutes into the second period on a bucket by Pearce. Austin College grew that lead over the next several minutes, eventually pushing it to 52-42 on a three by June with 8:09 to play. Lyon managed to cut the margin to 56-55 with 2:51 to play, and took a 59-56 lead on a three from Trevon Taylor with 1:58 on the clock. Getenet knocked down a triple to even things up, but the Scots closed the game outscoring the 'Roos six to three, and two three point attempts by the 'Roos in the final seconds missed. Taylor led all scorers with 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting.
