Millsaps Tops Austin College Men's Basketball

Ethan Pearce posted a doule-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds, knocking down 10-of-17 shots from the floor and 4-of-5 from the free throw line. He also added three steals and a pair of assists in the loss, while Kidus Getenet added 20 points on 8-of-16 shooting as the lone other 'Roo to reach double figures. Aiden Schnurr and Jamien June each scored eight points, while Ryan Dupre came off the bench to chip in five points and four assists.
The 'Roos knocked down just 38.9% from the field and 5-of-31 from beyond the arc, while Millsaps hit 51.5% from the field and outscored Austin College 21-10 from the free throw line. Millsaps did much of its damage from its bench, where the Majors outscored the 'Roos 34-11, and also scored 62 of their 92 points in the paint and held a 45-35 rebounding edge. Davion James scored 20 points to pace the Majors, who improve to 5-0, while Jaxon Toney had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Caleb Kent came off the bench to score 14.
Austin College is back in action tomorrow, as the 'Roos will stick around in Jackson to face off against Belhaven at 2:00 p.m.
