Getenet Named SCAC Player of the Week

SUWANEE, Ga. - Austin College men's basketball player Kidus Getenet has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week after an outstanding weekend in which he helped the 'Roos clinch a berth in the conference tournament, the league office has announced.

Getenet, a senior wing from Allen, helped the 'Roos cap off a huge final month of the season in which they won seven of their final 10 games to earn a spot in the conference tournament, averaging 23.0 points and 6.0 rebounds as Austin College went 2-0 against Hendrix and Ozarks (Ark.). Getenet poured in 30 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the win over the Warriors, and added 16 points in a must-win game against the Eagles.
