Bassett Named SCAC Defensive Player of the Week

SUWANEE, Ga. - Austin College men's soccer player Patrick Bassett has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week after a weekend in which the 'Roos went 2-0 on the road, including earning a shutout victory at McMurry.

Bassett, a first-year goalkeeper from San Antonio, earned his second clean sheet of the season in the team's 1-0 win over the War Hawks, while also helping the 'Roos hold off Schreiner for a 2-1 victory on Sunday afternoon. Bassett allowed only one goal while logging all 180 minutes in the net over the weekend, making two saves in each victory. Bassett currently ranks third in the SCAC in goals-against-average and fifth in save perventage.
