Colorado College was in control through the majority of the game from a possession standpoint, but Austin College stunned the Tigers early with a goal in the 11th minute, punching in their first shot attempt to take a 1-0 lead. Sam Spencer got things started with a throw in, and after a touch from Max Mundorff, Pierce Wear put it in the back of the net to make give Austin College the early advantage. That score would stand through the rest of the first half despite multiple offensive chances for Colorado College, who outshot the 'Roos 13-2 in the opening frame.
The Tigers upped the aggression offensively after halftime, firing 21 shots to just four for Austin College and putting 10 on target after halftime, but the 'Roo defense and goalkeeper Patrick Bassett managed to keep the Tigers at bay until the 87th minute. That's when a loose ball in front of the net fell to Jack Purvis, who knocked it in at the 86:24 mark to square things up, and that's how things would finish as neither team was able to get a go-ahead goal in the closing moments. Bassett finished with 11 saves while Alex Wolter stopped two shots for Colorado College.
Austin College is back in action at home on Sunday, when they take on the University of Dallas in another SCAC match at 2:00 p.m.
