'Roos Eliminated in SCAC Semifinals
ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team saw its season come to a close on Friday evening in the semifinal round of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, as the No. 5-seeded 'Roos fell 2-0 to the No. 1-seeded Colorado College. The 'Roos finish the year with an overall record of 8-7-3.

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team saw its season come to a close on Friday evening in the semifinal round of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, as the No. 5-seeded 'Roos fell 2-0 to the No. 1-seeded Colorado College. The 'Roos finish the year with an overall record of 8-7-3.
The majority of the game was a defensive battle between Austin College and the Tigers, with both goals for Colorado College coming in a nine minute span in the opening half. Neither team was able to get onto the board in the first 33 minutes of the game, but Oliver Ramirez delivered what proved to be the game-winner at the 33:29 mark on a feed from Teddy Opler to put Colorado College on top 1-0. Eight and a half minutes later, Opler got a goal of his own, making it a 2-0 game heading into halftime.
After being limited to two shot attempts in the opening half, Austin College started to put more pressure on in the offensive third after the break, launching seven shots, but the 'Roos were unable to get on the board. The Tigers finished the game with an 18-9 advantage in shot attempts, including nine to two in shots on goal. Patrick Bassett made seven stops for the 'Roos while Alex Wolter made a pair of saves for Colorado College.
