'Roo Swimming Gets Strong Performances at Southlake Shootout

The Austin College swimming and diving team had several strong performances at the two day Southlake Shootout, led by Lauren Wheeler on the women's side and Erik Gentzel on the men's side.

Wheeler got off to a solid start on Friday when she placed sixth in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.17, and earned fifth place finishes in both the 100 and 200 backstroke events on Saturday. Wheeler finished with a time of 1:01.55 in the 100 and 2:15.23 in the 200. Brette Grieder also had a solid showing on the second day, finishing 11th in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 23:01.74. On the men's side, Gentzel took 12th in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:05.74.
