The Austin College women's basketball team got 21 points from Kali Vittallo and the 'Roos knocked down 9-of-18 threes in a 84-64 win at Centenary on Friday. The 'Roos are now 13-7 overall and 7-3 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with the victory.
Vittallo knocked down 5-of-7 threes in the game to get her 21 points, and Austin College jumped out to a 23-16 lead after the first quarter behind six early points from Bryce Frank. Frank would finish with 12 points and a career-high seven assists in the victory.
After taking a 42-30 lead into halftime, Austin College outscored the Ladies by four in each of the final two quarters for the 20 point win. Austin College shot 47.7% from the field overall, and hounded Centenary into 24 turnovers to help earn the victory. Kendall Heitmeier scored 15 points, and Olivia Bailey chipped in 13 and came away with four steals. Caitlyn Collins added 10 points for the 'Roos.
Austin College will be looking for its third straight win when the 'Roos take on Colorado College in Colorado Springs on Sunday.
