SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Austin College women's soccer team dropped its Friday night road contest at Trinity, with the Tigers handing the 'Roos a 9-0 defeat. Austin College is now 0-5 on the year and 0-2 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.
Trinity got on the board early, with a goal by Chelsea Cole in the 9th minute of action. Cole scored again in the 17th minute and Kaity Ward added a tally three minutes later to make it 3-0. Cole would find the back of the net again in the 30th minute, and the Tigers added three more before the break to head into halftime leading 7-0. Cole scored once more early in the second half to make it an 8-0 game and Trinity tacked on one more in the 67th minute to make it a 9-0 final.
The Tigers put Austin College on the defensive from the beginning, out-shooting the 'Roos 43-1 and controlling possession throughout. Maya Erwin made 11 saves for Austin College, who looks to break through on Sunday as they head to Kerrville to take on Schreiner.
