'Roo Tennis Drops Home Match to HPU

The duo of Cameron McIver and Timothy Wallace won a hard-fought flight one doubles match by a score of 7-6 with a 7-4 tiebreaker, and the 'Roos clinched the doubles point with a 6-0 line two win by Patrick Fenner and Wyatt Fischer. Cruz Rocha and Jace Warner were topped 6-1 on line three.
Fischer earned the lone singles win for Austin College playing on line two, coming out on top with a 6-0, 2-6, 6-3 win. McIver was defeated 6-1, 6-0 on line one, while Wallace battled but came up short in a 6-0, 4-6, 4-6 line three match. Fenner dropped his line four match 6-1, 6-3, while Warner was bested 6-1, 6-2 on line five and Rocha lost 7-5, 6-3 in a tough line six contest.
Howard Payne took the doubles point on the women's side, with Austin College's number one team of Olivia Sanchez and Emma Davidson as well as the line two team of Lauren Hofeldt and Ashlyn Alexander both falling 6-1. Elizabeth Mojica and Abby Sadler earned a win on line three by default.
Davidson fought to a 6-4, 6-2 line four win in singles competition, while Alexander and Lauren Walker won by default on lines five and six to secure three singles points for the 'Roos. However, HPU took lines one, two, and three, giving them four total points to clinch the match.
Sanchez dropped a 6-1, 6-2 match on line one, and Mojica lost 6-0, 6-0 playing line two. Hofeldt competed on line three, falling 6-0, 6-2.
