'Roo Tennis Sweeps Sul Ross
SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College men's and women's tennis teams each secured dominant victories over Sul Ross State at the Jordan Family Courts on Monday evening. Both squads swept the Lobos, winning all six singles matches and all three doubles matches to claim a pair of 7-0 team victories.

The men's team set the tone early in doubles competition. Cameron McIver and Timothy Wallace claimed a 6-3 victory over Joseph Rangel and Gavin Leon in the top flight. The duo of Wyatt Fischer and Patrick Fenner followed with a 6-1 win against Mario Hurtado and Sean Carlos Rivera, while Joel Colunga and Jace Warner delivered a flawless 6-0 shutout against Joshua Hernandez and Diego Flamenco to complete the doubles sweep.
In men's singles, McIver led the way at line one with a 6-1, 6-4 win against Rangel. Colunga faced a tight first set but ultimately defeated Leon 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 in the number two spot. The rest of the lineup cruised, with Wallace, Fenner, and Warner all recording perfect 6-0, 6-0 sweeps in their respective matches, and Fischer securing a comfortable 6-0, 6-1 victory over Rivera.
The women's team delivered an equally flawless performance. In doubles play, Olivia Sanchez and Emma Davidson took down Madalyn Marquez and Emily Scott 6-2 at line one. Lauren Hofeldt and Ashlyn Alexander blanked Arianne Nieto and Mia Espinoza 6-0, and the tandem of Abby Sadler and Elizabeth Mojica delivered another 6-0 shutout against Josebeth Hernandez and Clarissa Deleon.
Sanchez continued her strong play at number one singles, defeating Marquez 6-3, 6-2. Mojica fought off Scott for a 7-5, 6-2 win at line two. The bottom half of the Austin College lineup proved completely untouchable, as Hofeldt, Davidson, Alexander, and Sadler all posted 6-0, 6-0 shutouts in singles play to finalize the sweep for the 'Roos.
